What are Assisted Living Services (ALS)

Assisted Living Services (ALS) provides twenty-four-hour supervision, medically-related personal care, nursing supervision, and health-related support services. The state-licensed facilities are for Medicaid-eligible individuals who are a part of the Elderly and Disabled Waiver Program (EDWP). This service is for those who cannot continue living independently at home and want to be around their community. Group-model homes provide personal care services the member needs that are on a schedule that respects the member’s choice. ALS services ensure the member’s hygiene and health needs are met. A Registered Nurse at every ALS facility is available to take care of the individual’s tasks and supervise the personal care services to ensure that the needs of the individual are delivered appropriately and safely.
